Best of New York Shopping 2004

Best Lighting

  • Lighting By Gregory

    158 Bowery, 212-226-1276
    lightingbygregory.com

From the outside, Lighting by Gregory might appear to be yet another stop on the Bowery fixtures strip, but its wares are far from the glitzy, gaudy stuff you might expect at this address. The 8,000-square-foot showroom is packed with tasteful fixtures in every imaginable style (clients range from Yoko Ono to the Harry Winston store). And thanks to the amazing inventory, most customers can find the perfect lamp, chandelier, track system, or even ceiling fan (choose from 70!) and bring it home the same day. Prices range from $13.50 for a Lightolier track head to upwards of $2,000 for a Louis Poulsen chandelier. Need more?
