There’s one problem with the concept of a “perfect T-shirt”: A single style will get you only so far. Indeed, for your T-shirt situation to be anywhere near perfect, you need a fresh one for every day of the week. And they can’t all look the same. For buying shirts in bulk that don’t look like a bulk order, everyone from New York fashion editors to Natalie Portman swears by the gods at H&M. Here, you can count on finding your perfect T-shirt in at least five colors. And then a smattering of just-about-perfect styles in dozens of other colors. And that’s before you even reach the sale racks. So go on, take a dozen, and be done with the top half of your summer shopping: Chances are, it won’t cost you more than $100.
