Profile
Walking into this boutique is like entering a fairytale boudoir, complete with pink-stained wood floors and sparkling white chandeliers dangling from the ceiling. Designer Nanette Lepore similarly takes feminine fashions to the frilly extreme, emphasizing a ladylike demeanor and luxuriously femme sensibility in both her fashions and her boutique. A-line skirts and shift dresses in candy colors, gossamer chiffon, or watercolor-infused stripes are adorned with sparkly brooches and trim detailing; silk tops are edged with lace and ruffles. Embroidered coats in fine fabrics are tailored to a dressmaker’s exacting demands; pair them with a lemon-yellow party dress to feel worth a royal ransom or a million bucks. Decorative birdcages display the jewelry selection, which includes pieces from Lepore as well as designers like Lee Angel, Gerard Yosca, and Trina Tarantino. Shoes in eye-popping pinks with handbags to match are too cute to pass up, as is Lepore’s lovely rose-based perfume and ancillary bath and body products. Paris and Nicky, Uma and Drew, Reese and Sarah Jessica, too, all say “yes, yes, Nanette.”
SalesSales twice a year, post-summer and post-winter.

While the rest of the city scurries up and down Broadway, these three micro–shopping districts remain blissfully unpicked-over.
