Don’t let the small size fool you—Jussara Lee’s tiny downtown boutique is capable of very big things. The Brazilian-born designer produces a bespoke collection every year, as well as a series of made-to-order suits and dresses for her pickiest (and priciest) clients. Besides beautifully-built skirts, hand-tailored suits and cashmere sweaters in hand-dyed wool and silk, Lee also offers wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses, handmade within two months of the order. The clothing’s luxurious colors stand out against the store’s bare bones: A concrete floor and small couch comprise the main décor, fabric bolts line the high ceiling, and a ladder stands ready for easy access.
