Profile
It’s only in recent years that wildly successful Hollywood blockbusters—Spiderman, X-Men, Batman Returns—have attached a certain degree of credence and respectability to the comic-book universe, but the fact of the matter is comic books have always been hot, the medium providing truly innovative artists like Frank Miller, Daniel Clowes, and Adrian Tomine a chance to shine. The Comic Book Club acts as a weekly meeting place, for aficionados old and new, in the form of a talk show; industry vets, like Marvel editor-in-chief Joe Quesadas and Powers artist Mike Avon Oeming, are invited for Q&A's then followed by thematically related musical or comedy acts.
