Review
In Chris Eska’s debut, a young Mexican widow and her father-in-law hit the road to establish a life for themselves when money grows scarce. The plot is a little unbelievable at points, but what evolves out of all the simple kitchen-sink scenes ends up being deeply moving—the kind of naturalistic portrayal of human bonds rarely achieved on film.
