Profile

Closed for renovations until September 2008.

With its Eames chairs, white flagstone walls and African masks, Sugar goes for a chic, Brady Bunch-meets-tiki-lounge look—though the hip-hop on the sound system clashes with the décor. Down a flight of stairs lies a more intimate, parquet-walled lounge with brown leather banquettes and a smaller service bar. Now that word is out about the downstairs space—where a D.J. spins on weekend nights—this chic retro scene is starting to find its following among TriBeCa's after-work bar-hoppers.
