Ground zero for the East Village rock-'n'-roll gay bar scene now that the dying ember known as the Cock has ceded to Eurotrash and non-locals, the Phoenix is a deliciously dark queer hall with a pool table, Ms. Pac-Man, and the requisite hipper-than-thou jukebox packed with Britpop, girl groups, vintage punk, and post-rock.
