Profile

The super-trendy quickly moved on to swankier shores like the Hudson, but this spacious lounge in the bottom of the Tribeca Grand Hotel still attracts its share of the neighborhood's film and music-industry stars. The mini-Hyatt look isn't going to win any design awards, but the lounge's subdued vibe, plush seating and earth-toned décor can be quite pleasant on a weeknight. Weekends are when the velvet ropes and clipboards come out, and thus a lot more cramped. But it's still an excellent spot to meet for drinks before heading to a party, to dinner at one of the many nearby restaurants.
