It's all Coors Light, chicken wings, and NFL games at this small Upper East Side sports bar. Announcing itself unceremoniously with a dark-blue awning decorated with sports logos, the Blue Room seems purposely anti-quaint. The block's string of charm-drenched venues (like the frilly Serendipity 3) ends abruptly at Second Avenue, where The Blue Room's no-frills regulars slurp domestic drafts, numb their taste buds on Atomic Wings—the company runs a booth in the back—and take in drably urban views of the Roosevelt Island Park tram and the Queensboro Bridge. Heads tilted upward to one of the seven TVs, neighborhood sports fans congregate here to watch games, or organize billiards bouts on the blue-felted pool table in the back. Blue, in case you hadn't noticed, is the theme here—from the blue party lights draped across the blue walls and the framed poster of Mickey Blue Eyes to the Blue Moon Ale on tap.
On Thursday nights at this comedy venue, $7 gets you no less than four shows, pizza is free, and beer is a buck.

Best of NY: Nightlife From a great first-date bar to the hands-down best martini in New York City.
